Just when I despair of human nature, something pops up that
restores my faith in people (well some of them anyway!). Had a little trouble
with the motor the other day. Nothing for 130 miles or so and then it just died
on me. Tried everything but it would not even flicker. Would you believe seven people stopped to
offer assistance in the hour I was stuck there?
One chap, in one of these huge
knobbly-tyred monsters, even offered to tow me the 20 miles to my
destination!
I have to say that none of
them had much advice to offer on the motor. Well I suppose any car made before
New Labour got into power is an antique to most of them (I know it is not
really that long - it just seems that way).

Don’t get me started on politics. It seems
that everything we do these days, whether it’s work or pleasure, has a law or
regulation of some sort attached to it to stop us making a bob or two, calling
a spade… sorry a shovel a shovel, having a better time than anyone else,
hurting ourselves, or often because some bureaucrat, with nothing better to do,
thought they would intervene in our lives anyway!
And what is worse is that we
are all paying for this interference - we motorists more than most!  Here is a message for those control freaks in
Westminster (and Brussels).
Politicians and
nappies need changing often - and for the same reason!
I snart
